Which testosterone is best for FTM?
There are three types of testosterone that are available for FTM transgender people: cypionate, enanthate, and propionate. Each type has its own unique benefits and drawbacks.
Cypionate is a long-acting testosterone ester that provides sustained levels of testosterone for up to two weeks. This makes it a good choice for those who want fewer injections per month. However, the Cypionate ester can also cause more water retention than other forms of testosterone.
Enanthate is another long-acting testosterone ester with similar benefits to Cypionate. It is less likely to cause water retention, making it a better choice for some people. However, Enanthate injections must be given every week rather than every two weeks like with Cypionate injections.
ProprionATE is the shortest acting form of testosterone available in an injectable format. This means that it needs to be injected more often (every day or every other day) but also results in peak blood levels immediately after injection. This might make it a better choice for people who experience side effects from other forms of testosterones
