What are 5 ways to improve self-esteem?

Self-esteem is a term used to describe the overall opinion a person has of themselves. It can be broken down into different categories such as self-worth, self-respect, and self-confidence.

There are many ways to improve one's self esteem. The most important part is that you have to want to do it for yourself. Here are five tips on how to boost your confidence and feel better about yourself:

1) Make time for yourself: This may seem like common sense, but it's often easier said than done. We're so busy taking care of everyone else that we forget to take care of ourselves. Set aside some time each day (or week) where you can do something just for you – read a book, take a walk in nature, meditate etc… When we make time for ourselves we're telling our brain that we're important and deserve some me time!

2) Exercise regularly: Exercise releases endorphins which make us feel good both physically and mentally! Not only will you start looking better but you'll also feel more confident in your own skin.

3) Eat healthy foods: Eating nutritious foods helps our bodies function at their best both physically and mentally! Junk food may taste good in the moment but it definitely doesn't help our mood or confidence levels in the long run.. try incorporating more fruits & vegetables into your diet instead 🙂

4) Surround yourself with positive people: This one is key! If all of our friends or family members are constantly putting us down then it's no wonder why our self esteem isn't very high.. seek out relationships with people who support & encourage you instead!

5) Practice positive affirmations: Repeating positive statements about ourselves out loud (or even silently!) helps train our brains into believing them over time.. eventually leading to an increase in confidence & self esteem
